I turned the laptop on and as soon as it got to desktop it shut down completely and wouldn't turn on. I had to remove the battery and press the power button for 30sec eventually it started but now the LCD isn't working. I heard the win7 boot sound so I connected to an old CRT and using that for now. I reinstalled intel graphic driver, reflashed bios (a5), but no screen.( duplicate screen, show one main screen settings checked, hdmi works everything) hwinfo shows the samsung monitor too. Any help would be appreciated because now the laptop is practically unusable :(

Call dell, your warranty should cover this - they will send out a tech to replace the top half of the laptop. Good luck

yeah i'm planning to call them but since I live in Kosovo (Europe but bought the laptop in USA) I guess I have to bring the laptop there so I was hoping maybe there isn't a hardware problem.
Edit: Does alienware let you open the laptop without breaching the warranty.

I know they once told me how to check if the hinges of my M11x were damaged. It only involved taking apart the keyboard though.

They said that it wouldn't void my warranty because they told me to do it; and should the damage be what we thought, then they would send a tech to repair it at my home.

it should be easy to install but I think it's just the actual LCD under the glass cover so no matte option :(
