    Hi all,

I just installed my Kingston Hyper X 8GB kit (blue) and set, in the bios, overclock enabled and XMP 2 (read from forum can't remember ).

My processor is the i7 2630.

The Windows experience index goes up to 7.8 (7.7 stock 4GB, 7.6 no adjustments to 8GB).

I'm wondering what kind of rating others get as I was hoping to get a 7.9. Now, I know that small decimal values don't matter much in the real world, but I just want to know I've set the optimal settings. I was surprised to find that my graphics performance went from 5.9 to a 6.9.

    Cheers,
    Charismaztex

Your graphics has increased because WEI is probably running on the IGP, which uses system memory not its own graphics memory.

Thanks quicksilv3r for replying. This is lolz; I have the same processor as you but I get 7.4. We have the same specs and you get 7.9 for RAM.

I'm just curious to know the reason for why the scores differ on the same hardware, although the difference in scores mean nothing in the real world.

What are your settings for the Hyper X XMP? profile 1 or 2?

I've got a 256GB Crucial M4 sitting on my desk atm. That should probably bring the overall a little higher; weakest link will probable be graphics then...

1600 MHz (Blue version). I thought the 2630 only supports 1333 so would it make a difference as the RAM will still run at 1333?

I know the 1866 max out the WEI. So the 1600 is lower yes.

2630QM supports 1600/1866/2133. Just set the profile for it.

Does anyone know the difference between XMP profile 1 and 2? Nothing in spec sheets and nothing on Intel's website.

I've been told in another thread that profile 2 is recommended. Dunno why...

i cant find any good info about XMP either, my M14x came with 2 sticks of samsung 1600 cas 11 witch i think is kinda high latency.

to use XMP the memory must be made for? 1600 cl11 give me a lil more bandwith but i think in real work 1333 cl9 would be better!

I am running 1600 g.skill ram and have the same 7.9. Also went and got the 500 XT Hybrid and still get the 5.9 where as my desktop with a SSD Intel gets 7.9 on the HD score. Graphics came out the same on both as 6.9.
