I have a M14X R2, just came out of warranty in June.

It runs an i7 and a nvidia 650m with 16GB Ram.

I currently have a Seagate Hybrid 1TB installed.

Problem is...CD drive does not work any more, my fault, I broke the ribbon tab installing the new hard drive and I just found out last week, the battery is dead.

I am debating between buying a new notebook and selling this one, or just keep it as a side notebook for continued gaming until it dies.

How long before the notebook is not good for gaming? I currently gaming Borderlands Series and some other games on steam. But with prices going down on some ubisoft games, I am looking to play FC4 and some other newer games.

    Any opinions??

How much would you sell this for?
Warranty running out is a big hit for people eho eish to buy a used laptop..
But you accidentally broke your cd as well while upgrading?
Sobhow much would you offer for it?

Considering that I am looking that either MSI or Asus. ($1200 to $1400) I would at least try to get $500, but I am sure the dead battery/no optical drive/no warranty would not even gain that much. So I would probably get less then $500.

But I am mostly wondering whether it would be worth keeping to game over the next year or two years with the 650m?? I just purchased a HD for a customer upgrade and got a free copy of Assassin's Creed®Rogue, I would like to play this game, but not sure if it would run on this notebook. I play a lot of steam games, Borderlands, Sniper Elite, SouthPark and some Indie games which run well on this notebook, but I plan to purchase FC4 and maybe Dying Light.
