First thoughts are that anyone who complains about the weight is a wuss. And anyone who calls it a beast needs to have their eyes checked. It’s a beast but not in size. The M14x is the perfect size IMO. I also like the thickness of the machine. The entire unit just has a purposeful look to it. The screen isn’t bad at all. I like it (just gotta make the fonts bigger). What else? It didn’t come with a bag just some sleeve, and one more USB port would have been nice (my old machine from 4 years ago had 4 USB ports). I like what I see so far.

Glad you like it. I still need to get used to having a 900p screen as I was spoiled by the big, readable fonts from my previous laptop's 1366x768 resolution I changed my DPI to about 125 but some programs like itunes don't scale well. I guess it's their fault not this machine's

USB 3 port on the left is mint! You can charge usb devices even when the computer is off! The sleeve is good for storing it in another bag, but i'm waiting for the roccat INTO to come to europe. ROCCAT STUDIOS V3.0

Dont forget to get the latest video drivers 285.79: Graphics Driver - Verde 285.79 Driver - GeForce

And enjoy the system! The M14x is the best blend in portability and power!

Thanks guys. One more thing. It seems like I got the intel wireless display for wireless HD. I didn't order it. Now I just have to find a nice bag.

Another thing. I can't seem to get the arrow keys to work.

edit: They seem to work. Just not in an IE explorer box like the one I'm typing this in now. I'll download chrome

Intel Wireless Display is different than Wireless HD. I love all those things about the m14x too though. I agree, I was complaining about the lack of 4 USB ports. 2 couldve definitly been squeezed it on the left side. My perfect m14x (realistically of course; no built in microwaves and airplanes) would be a 4 usb, m11x-thin, 655M, i7 HD+ m14x. The thickness and weight are definitely not bothers for me. Its like a mobile desktop replacement with 5 hour battery imo.

I believe the USB port on the left is just USB 2.0 not 3.0

Where i use the laptop the glare doesn't appear to be an issue. But this thing is sweet. Sounds Great!!! Can't wait to get all nationalistic with the keyboard led zones.

You're right, 2 x USB 3.0 on the right, 1 x USB 2.0 with PowerShare Technology on the left.

    That clears that up then!

Thanks!! My desktop is gonna get jealous. I did plan on big screening the thing. Hooked it up to my Panasonic plasma and all was well (sound and all). This is one of the most pleasant purchases that I've had in a while.

I got mine on!! 14th :) Kinda like a memorable day?

    M14X on 11/14/11 (mm/dd/yy) :D

This machine is really nice and powerful. I really love the 900p screen after using M11X 1366 x 768 screen.

Right now this has been replaced for home usage and M11X for outdoor purpose, hehe ...
