I am just 30 days past my warranty and my beloved M14X dies on me - I was youtubing it yesterday when the screen goes stupid and everything just dies - All it does now is beep with a black screen .

Any input is welcome before I get my complimentory run around from the tech department .

This sounds like another dead motherboard to me..
Is it a continuous beeping or are there for example seven beeps in row?

According to this page, 4 beeps indicate a Memory failure...
You can now try to remove each stick and try to boot with only one, also try changing the slots, to figure out which module is broken.

Changing the broken module should resolve the issue, you might be in need of new RAM platines though.

Fun bit of trivia, the "dropping" will also fix an Apple III computer :) Basically the dropping reseats any lose chips. About as technical as using a hammer :)

"In a technical bulletin from Apple, customers who were experiencing certain problems were instructed to lift the machine 3 inches (76 mm) and drop it in order to re-seat the chips on the logic board."

LOL! That workaround has worked for me as well in the past with some older machines. :p Hopefully that fixed the issue and won't be coming back.
