    Jacket cover for FPC connector?

    This is the part that snaps down to hold the optical drive ribbon in place.

    I broke mine a few weeks ago. I just talked to Dell, and the guy knew what part I was talking about but he said they didn't sell it as a replacement. He suggested that I check eBay. The only thing he could tell me was that I should search "FPC connector"....

    Ended up on molex.com and turns out the piece I need is the jacket cover. They're like 20 cents, but I have no idea of what size to get. Does anyone have any idea? I saw the parts break down list, but there must be some master break down somewhere??

    i did exactly the same thing they told me i needed a new motherboard i told them were to go, can you not just use a ruler of sorts?
