Itunes on m14x

Hi all,

I'm pretty new with a comp. After I installed Itunes, I noticed there is a significant slowdown in my system. Is there any way I can go about it?

Yes, type in msconfig in the start menu search box. Go to start up on the right, and uncheck anything that you dont want starting up, any apple made software, itunes, quicktime, etc. My start up list is like a quarter of the original start up. Generally, you want to stop anything that isnt needed. You don't want to stop things like windows OS, drivers, anything alienware, or your anti virus. But uncheck software you only use when you run them after start up.
When you install a new program, and you dont want it starting up automatically on start up, just check the msconfig start up menu again, I usually check it weekly to see if anything was added. I strive for a fast start up, but thats just me. Not having all those programs starting up wont only speed up boot times, but it will keep them dormant until you run them, so they wont really affect performance.
