    Hey guys,

I was running A05 before and everything was fine, i since upgraded to A08 Bios and ive had nothing but issues with the intel gfx & NV drivers plus the insane noise that the fan does even on facebook. Most of the time the fan would come on full song with the lid closed and idling!

at the same time i upgraded my ssd to a samsung 840 and as many know on here they are getting less than good results, with speeds. after i heard that SATA 3 was disabled in A08; i installed the A05 bios and the speeds were there and the noise had gone! however now ive got issues with trying to get drivers installed on the pc

    so currently i am running:
    windows 7 x64
    A05 bios
    samsung 840 ssd

and i have tried these drivers:
    320.14
    310.70
    297.07
    296.88

i often get the display adapter has crashed and recovered again, not to mention completely useless frame-rates in anything i play from starcraft 2 to stardrive

should i just ring the dell rep? or has anyone managed to get drivers installed after going from A08 to A05

Sounds like the driver is corrupt, you should try a clean driver installation first.

Make sure the video drivers are completely removed (Check Programs and features, then double check on the device manager)

After you've done this restart and check your device manager again, under display adapter you should find only "Standard VGA adapter". If you still have a card's name instead proceed to uninstall it, restart and repeat until you get "Standard VGA adapter" (you will have to repeat the process for each driver version you've installed on top of old drivers).

Once the drivers have been completely removed you can manually delete the registry entries or use driver sweeper/driver fusion to do it for you.

Download and install the latest Intel HD driver and Nvidia driver, then whitelist your games and you're good to go.

thanks for your assistance, i thought i almost got it last night but this morning it came up with the display adapter dropped out again :(

did what you said and removed the drivers completely and cleaned etc..

next step is to try from win7 to win8 and wipe the drives and see if that fixes it, it probably is a dud corrupt driver or dll file somewhere and the only way to be sure is a clean install

Seams to have fixed it going to win8

Must of been a DLL file or corrupted driver
