Is using native (1600x900) or lower resolution better?

I understand that the 1600x900 resolution that I have (I upgraded the screen) definitely looks superb (although the text on games like Dragon Age: Origins is a bit small), but I am wondering if I play at a lower resolution will it be easier on my m14x? If I click on "Restore Defaults" in the video settings for Dragon Age: Origins, it sets the resolution at 1366x something (I think its 1366x720). Because this is non-native, does that mean it will be worse than using 1600x900 due to interpolation or some other reason?

I have the upgraded screen option so native is 1600x900.

It'll look blurry. Just think about it.

    Also, 1366x768.

It'll play better in terms of performance, but will lose a significant amount of resolution. The 900p screen is great for gaming, but it seems like its too much of a resolution on a 14 inch screen in terms of daily usage. I seem to get lost in the screen because it's so much smaller (higher resolution.) For gaming, I love the 900p resolution, but for everyday typing/browsing, 1366x768 is better. And although it's not a native resolution, it's still a 16x9 ratio, so it will still use the full screen.

I prefer the higher res for daily tasks, but 1366x768 is perfectly fine for gaming (Although I hear RTS's are better with a higher res)

Crysis looks practically native @ 1366x768 and ect (I run more demanding games like Metro 2033 and Crysis @ 1366x768)

I also prefer higher res, because it look better and neat, as for gaming, in some GPU demand game like Crysis 2, I lower the res to 720p for few more fps. And yes RTS game look better on higher res because it's like zooming/stretch the map out more, and most RTS game doesnt really a GPU demanding game though, so it would be fine.
