Hello, I'm wondering if any of you have the basic intel wifilink 1000 for the m14x. Mine is connected at wireless n, but websites crawl, and downloads, especially on steam, completely stop at some point. Any idea how to fix this? Other computers on the same wireless network run great, and it's only when I plug in the ethernet cord to the m14x does the internet go fast.

My thinking is that wifi 1000 card is not very good at all. I would upgrade to a better card.

On another note, you could check the settings of the card and play around with that (i.e. performance > compatibility or aggressive, wifi n only or b/g/n, etc.)

You might also want to check your anti-virus settings. Some check every single file downloaded.

The card works very well for me, it exceeded my expectations.
Except for the update of Age of Conan. über slow!

I had the wifilink and it was terrible. Completely stopped working on me. I Spent 4 hrs on tech support, and eventually ordered the killer-n 1102.

Im currently looking into the intel 6250 by intel, if anyone has that or similar, is it a great card? I really don't think I'd need a killer.

After trying different drivers, taking the card out, etc. I opened up my network connections window, and removed my wireless network, then added it again. It fixed the issue of dropping signal, slow speed, and not being able to reconnect upon waking up from sleep.

Never mind, problems back, putting in that order for a 6250 grr....

You should go with the Killer-N 1102.
