I'm planning to replace the 500GB HDD on my R1 with a 240GB Intel 330. I've been wading through a lot of the SSD posts here, but could not find a definitive answer.

From a lot of people's posts, the Samsung 830 is better, but I'm finding it difficult to source it where I am.

My question is, has anyone tried out the Intel 330-series SSDs, and has anyone encountered any issues yet? I'm planning to use the modified A08 BIOS with the SATA fix.

Thanks to anyone who can chime in with their experience!

Finally found someone willing to sell me a 256GB Samsung 830, so the question is now moot for me. However, I'm leaving it up in case someone wants to answer. It might still be helpful to those still deciding on whether the 330 is a good bargain.

I'm also looking into the 330 because there are no samsung ssd's available here or priced reasonably at least. good thing you got yourself a samsung based on past threads it's one of the ssd's that worked on sata 3 speed with no problems

Singkuy, the Samsung 830 256GB goes for around $250 in Manila. Most retailers don't stock it, since they carry mostly OCZ, Sandisk, Corsair and Intel. I think Samsung is the only major brand they don't carry. You'll have to go to auction sites to get one.

Get one at B&H online store. They post internationally and have the cheapest prices for the samsung 830 (even with postage) that i have seen. Wish i had found it before buying mine :(

As much as possible I would like to get it from a local retailer that honors the warranty just in case something goes wrong.$250 is a little to much for me maybe $100 or less. Thanks for the suggestions :)
