    Hi,

Just wondering if the new Intel 310 SSD ( Newegg.com - Intel 310 Series (Soda Creek) SSDMAEMC080G2C1 mSATA 80GB mSATA (mini PCIe form factor) MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) - SSD) can be used in the m14x. Is there a slot inside that can be used? And if so is it compatible?

I am new to SSD's and was looking at the Crucial M4 128GB drive, but this little PCIe Intel drive would mean I could keep the optical drive, the tradition HDD, and have an 80GB SSD.

I haven't decided to get the m14 yet, but this would be a push in that direction.

    Thanks

The mPCI-E slot does not have an I/O controller, so the Soda Creek drives will not work. ted264 didn't click through, it seems.

If you want two hard drives in your m14x, you'll want to get optical drive replacement caddy. That will allow you to install your HDD in the caddy, and the standard 2.5in SSD in your normal hard drive bay.

^ No SSDs are. (excusing of course the 3.5" and PCIe ones.)
