Hi everyone, I was hoping someone could help me

I have just bought a new Alienware m14x, it has windows 8 however I want to install Windows 7 on it. I do have a genuine copy of win 7.

The computer comes with 1tb hdd and 32gb ssd. Windows 8 comes installed on the 1tb hard drive. I want to install windows 7 on the ssd and format the hdd.

I have tried booting from DVD however it freezes when the windows screen comes up. I have also tried booting up windows 8 then using the windows 7 disk. It starts copying the files but when it restarts it again freezes.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

It might be that the disc is corrupted. Maybe getting another with the same version might help you. Also try disabling secure boot in the BIOS or putting the files on a USB.

I want to install Windows 8 on my new m14x. Can we just swap keys since Windows 7 and 8 are both downloadable? Does anyone know if that would work?
