I really wouldn't recommend VirtualBox. I use VMWare Workstation 8, but VMWare Player is also awesome. I run Windows 7 Pro as the host OS, and the application itself (virtualBox, VmWare) hosts the operating systems. Have a look at this video and others like it on YouTube.

I run massive VMWare servers for work, its easy to get into :)

I tried VMWare for the first time on Friday and was using Mountain Lion in a matter of minutes. Very easy to use and responds fast.

I have been trying to install Mac Lion on my laptop for days. I cannot get Mac OSx to boot therefore cant install. Any help would be appreciated. VMWare or VirtualBox? I have tried both.

I also have a MacBook Pro so I can make a USB or DVD recovery disk of lion.

Thank you for the link. Before I attempt this lengthy process again, do you know if this will work with my Windows 7 OS installed on an mSATA SSD?

I don't see why it wouldn't, if there's not enough space in the mSATA you should be able to run it from the storage HDD.

I'm trying to do this now from the link you posted, but the link to mediafire for the vmware files no longer exists. Do you know where I can get the needed files?

After about an hour of hunting and gathering around the internet for the needed files and I finally got everything I needed.

I now have a running version of Mac OSX 10.7 (Lion) on my Windows 7 laptop. If anyone needs help with this let me know.

I got it to work. Thank you. Now that I have Mac OS running, what can I do to improve the performance? Enable more CPUs? Increase from 2GB of RAM? Also, there are many drivers and addons like flash that need to be installed.
