So the other day, I ordered some RAM off Amazon.ca. Here is the link ( http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B008LTBM6S?psc=1&redirect=true). Before ordering, I made sure that the ram was compatible with my model. The manual asked for a speed of 1600, DDR3L, dual channel, low voltage ram (about 1.35 volts), and I ordered just that. Upon recieving my package and putting it in my system (did so at the time or writing), I got the good old two beep glory claiming that my ram is that of incorrect. Can anyone help me here? I'm certain I ordered the right ram for my system.
    Much obliged,

    ~Pixels.

Try to re-seat the ram. The Alienware 14 supports up to 16 GB of RAM.

I have attempted to re-seat the ram many times. Hell, I even took all the other DIMMS out just to try this one, but with no avail. What could be wrong with my chip? According to the Alienware website, it agrees with re-seating the module.

Try using your old ram if the 2 beep disappears. If the beep disappears, replace only one RAM at the moment. Switch on your laptop and press F2. Check the bios if your new RAM card is detected.

Using the old ram makes the beeping problems disappear, in the event that I put in my new DIMM (I only purchased one 8gb chip), the problem persists. Even if I try to do combinations. This is leading me to believe that my ram is faulty. Testing my ram on another PC might solve this theory.

    *EDIT*
I tried my new piece of RAM on an older notebook.

    It worked well

I checked your RAM model(the link) and ,I think this might be the problem but not really sure about it.
    "Crucial 4GB Single DDR3/DDR3L 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) CL11 SODIMM 204-Pin 1.35V/1.5V Memory for Mac CT4G3S160BM"

Sorry for long reply though.Any1 with better experience might help.

No problem lol. All what "ram for Mac" means is that it is DDR3L and 1.35V. Exactly what is needed for an Alienware 14. Besdies, if that were the problem, why would it have worked on another computer?
