Does anyone know of a compatible IPS panel in 1600x900 or higher that will fit the m14x? I have an R2 being delivered on Friday, and I am not a fan of TN panels at all. I also plan on a mod job for the clear pane on the front - keeping the edges but cutting out the center and beveling the new inner edge.

    So, compatible IPS, anyone?

Well, if nobody knows then oh well :(

The stock screen is pretty good looking in any case. Still, I am a fan of IPS.. My first flat panel monitor sucked, but then in 2006 I bought a Dell 2407WFP, and later a U2410f that I very much like. :D

Give me some of that good stuff you are smoking lol

The only good thing about the m14x r2 screen is the 900p resolution. The screen lacks color and vividness since it only covers 40% gamut.

Contrast is pretty good too. As for an IPS, I don't think anyone makes a 14" IPS screen for laptops, even ASUS' UX42 doesn't have an IPS option.

Just out of interest, has anyone actually successfully "transplanted" another (not factory) screen into his m14x?

Yes, I've done a Matte one in my ex-wife's M14x.

And yes, the IPS Screen is available from the Lenovo X1 Carbon. You should be able to transplant it....

Yeah any additional input would be great. I just recently got my m14x r2 last week and I love everything about it exact for the glare. I know the Lenovo X1 Carbon IPS screen is a matte finish but did you put on the front plastic shield as well? because that is known to create additional glare.

Wait a sec. The Lenovo X1 Carbon does not have an IPS screen. In fact, we have a crappy TN panel that I believe is worse than the M14x (big dot pitch and we all complain about screen door effect). In fact, I have been thinking about swapping in the M14x panel into the X1 Carbon..... I wonder if it would work?? At least the M14x has much finer dot pitch!!

I find the m14x's (900p) screen is pretty good for a TN. The glossyness is annoying but otherwise quite passable. Miles better than the screen on the XPS 14 or 15.
