hey, guys, I am new here. I wanna order a M14X, but I am confused.

Someone said that I can't use it in library cause the noise. And they also told me something about the unfairness keyboard and moved camera. And the most thing worried me is the temperature of CPU and the keyboard.

I was wanted to order a m17x, but it's too huge to move, and I think 14 maybe a good choice, I am not sure if these things are true.

Oh, come on , M14x, I want to use it to play BF3!

Thanks for answer me, dudes!

You can virtually make this laptop silent in places like a library by changing the power management settings to use passive cooling and restrict the CPU performance to a minimum and maximum of 5% in Windows.

If the keyboard lighting is a problem/distraction too then you can disable that easily from the AlienFX editor, or in power management on battery mode, or finally by using FN+Print Screen.

Yeah...... Thanks. and how about M
17X? Is it too big And heavy for a collegeboy? 6970M is a excellent video card. And the hdmi in could work for my xbox. I will buy only one laptop for 2years. So is hard for me to make a choice. Huge and powerful or smaller but some litter troubles?

the heat you kind of have to accept it when you see how powerful it is for the size.
im think it cuts out after 100c anyways (i think)
i managed to run crysis on high settings all ok. fan was loud but i had headphones on.
i dont really think its that heavy but i only carried it about for a little time

overall i love the m14x very impressed

I can say without question that the keyboard and palm rests stay really cool. It's the one thing that impresses me most about the M14x. The strip just in front of the keyboard will get really warm during intense gaming, but the keyboard and palm rests stay very cool even after hours of gaming!

Might right palm rest gets warm. After working three hours on a paper it was very warm.

Never had this problem, my m14x after 6 hours of gaming didnt even break 72 degrees, and was able to rest both hands perfectly fine, the fan does its job. When you game obviously the fan is gonna be on and you cant use it in the library cuz itl be loud. But just normal day activities like typing on word, or browsing web, etc. the fans for me have not kicked in more than twice and when they do its rele suddle like barely anything and after a minute its off again, its random. But as long as ur not gaming this thing is as silent as can be.
