    Hi All,

Hopefully someone can help me.... I done a clean install of Win 8 on my M14xR2, however whenever i try to download the Windows 8 drivers from the Dell website, i get the "Sorry, the requested file could not be downloaded" error. It looks as though Dell have provided the links for them, but the files haven't been uploaded to their FTP server yet.

Any thoughts? I could use the Windows 7 drivers, but would rather use ones designed for Win 8 for better compatibility.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

You're welcome, but mind you, there IS no issue. The workaround makes it pretty obvious that your download portal is fine. It's just the script that's not fetching the file due to a single problematic flag (or switch), namely 'isUSDownload'.

This is one line your portal's (PHP?) script returned to me as HTML.
    Code:
    input type="hidden" id='isUSDownload' name="isUSDownload" value="False" />
    ^Removed initial '<' for readability.

Universally changing that to 'true' across your website should hotfix it right up and make the downloads accessible to all, as it should be. Don't see how much "work" can really go into something that's not even nearly complex.

You are right but you also need to take into account that we follow a bureaucracy and we need to send the info to be reviewed before they do anything about it :/

I upgraded to Windows-8 last night and all I can say is "WOW"! Best Windows OS by far! I've used all kinds of Operating Systems since Windows-98, including Sun and Linux, and Windows-8 is hands down the best!

Here is Dell's link for the Windows-8 drivers. Just make sure you choose "Windows-8" from the operating system drop down menu.
