My GPU has been all kinds of messed up for about a month, and my friend and I are pretty sure it's a software related issue. I've tried to uninstall the drivers but I've messed around with it so much it seems beyond saving. I'd rather not have to do a clean install of windows but that's the next step if this doesn't work. So any tips on programs that would help?

Have u tried CCleaner? Run the cleaner and registry cleaner. Also try going into device manager, finding the gpu, right clicking and press uninstall (then use CCleaner, restart, then clean install with newest beta drivers)

Should I install the Dell recommended driver or Nvidia's latest beta driver?

You can try the Nvidia latest driver and it should work fine, but if you have any issues, you can just use the Dell one.

Can you describe the types of issues you are having with your GPU?

Here's how I do a super clean driver install.

    1. Disable automatic driver installation: Disable Auto Driver Installation

    2. Uninstall ALL NVIDIA video drivers, PhysX etc from withing Control Panel

    3. Reboot

    4. Download and install Driver Sweeper: Driver Sweeper

    5. Run Driver Sweeper and check the NVIDIA box. Scan and remove all driver components that may have been left behind.

    6. Reboot

    7. Download and install CCleaner: CCleaner

    8. Run CCleaner's registry cleaner and make sure you backup the registries when they prompt you to BEFORE you clean it out. Run it several times to clean all that mess out.

    9. Reboot

    10. Install your new driver

At this point you should have just about the cleanest video drivers and it shouldn't give you any more issues. Good Luck!

I'm starting to think this is hardware related. I'm getting the Code 43 error when I check the properties of the GPU.

I would definitely use the newest beta ones - they work well
