I've had this baby for about two months or so - it's still spotless and performing perfectly.

However, this morning in class, I noticed that the laptop lets out a high-pitched squeal every twenty-five seconds or so. Very noticeable in a quiet room.

It's not the keyboard, the fan, the HDD or the optical drive - I'm sure of this. I have the speakers muted and it still happens. I'm quite confused as to what could be making the noise. It's coming from the right side of the laptop, if that helps.

If I got it right, it should be the application that controls and shuts the speakers off when they're not needed (even if you did it manually already).

    I had the same problem.

Try to have a look into your sound control panel and disable the auto shut dows of the speakers completely, both plugged in and on battery, that should fix it.
