If you read my other post, I had a small speck on my screen, very glitchy, not necessarily a dead pixel. Was trying to fix it.

Downloaded intel HD driver from dell/alienware. Was going to re-install driver.

Uninstalled HD driver, screen is black now.

Can't see crap. Computer is still on. This happened to me before when I was building my gaming desktop computer.

I know windows is suppose to have default display drivers, can anyone help?

It's sitting in my room online with a black screen and I don't want to force restart it, but I'm not sure where to go from here.

That is because of M14x use the Intel iGP as the default GPU, that why u remove it and it just gone, I guess you can just have to force restart, because you cant do anything from here though.

And if you planning to re-install the driver Do Not uninstall first, just click on the driver straightaway and install it because the installer will either automatic overwrite the file or auto unistall and reinstall it back.

    Ok, Thanks buddy.

I'm used to doing this on my desktop gaming computers, and the computer would default to Windows default display graphics.

And I always uninstalled first and then used driver sweeper THEN installed new drivers.

Is there some hot key to restart the system on the aliewnare or is the only option holding the alienhead and force shutdown?

    Thanks bro

    GSDR:

Just to give an update, I did force reboot and booted back up into windows.

The default windows display adapter did load and I could SEE the desktop. I was able to install the HD drivers Intel 3000 at this point and all is back to normal.

Thanks for your help about the drivers; my mind state is still with gaming desktop computers, and we always remove the drivers first; then boot into safe mode and use driver sweeper, than we install new drivers.

I didn't know the Intel HDdrivers would just overwrite themselves etc... I did google the issue prior to doing it but never found information not even on intels website.

Thanks for your help GSDR, I was waiting on my other computer downstairs waiting for replies and I saw the views go up on this thread, but 0 replies :(

    Thanks for your help :D

You're welcome mate, :) I'm use to be a desktop user too, but I never have it uninstall manually instead (I use the AMD card) the installer just did the auto uninstallation and reinstall the new driver in. But I'm not sure if the other driver does this or not.

hello, I have same problem. I have 2 installed graphic cards, the Intel HD 3000 and the nVidea GT550 , when i was working on my Autocad program I found some lag because it seems that the program was working on the Intel one. so I opened device manager and disabled the HD Intel card and a black screen displayed ... I restart the windows , stille black screen and tried to plug an outside computer screen into VGA socket in my laptop to display the image to restore the Intel card and it also dont work... :/ anyone has any solution please reply.. thank you.. :)

Hook up an hdmi monitor or tv. That should force the gt555m as it is only tied to the 555m. In the future, you need to whitelist applications rather than disabling adapters.
