Hi, I'll buy a m14x soon and I'm looking for a gaming mice, I actualy have the Cyborg R.A.T 7 but I have some issue with it so I'll return it to get another one.
    I'm stuck between:
    ROCCAT STUDIOS V3.0 - PRODUCTS » Gaming Mice » ROCCAT Kova[+]
    and
Buy Razer Mamba Wireless Gaming Mouse | Official Razer? Store
The Roccat will fit perfectly with the m14x imo because of the skin and the color can be changed like alienFX, but the Mamba seems to have a better build quality and better perfs (for this price I expect...). The Wired / Wireless option is really atractive.
So, can someone help me to choose?

And I have another question about the mice pad Kabuto from Razer, It can be used as screen protector but has someone tried with the m14x, will it fit between the screen and the keyboard?
Here is a link Buy Razer Kabuto Gaming Mouse Mat | Official Razer? Store
    Thanks in advance!

I have not got any of these stuff you mentioned. But the gap between keyboard and screen is pretty small.

I remember Bruce said when he carry the laptop in backpack, after a day's travel he can even see the touchpad mark on screen! Definitely a no to an extra mat in between them.

Personal I am a big fan of steelseries, been using XAI and SX for years. Being a gamer you should know which mice suited you the best

I have the kabuto. It's very thin. It will fit between the screen and keyboard yes.

I have the orochi, the mamba's smaller laptop sibling. Great mouse. My main annoyance with it is that it doesn't charge via cable. Razer really should have added that as a feature. The mouse is glossy on the sides so it can get grubby, but it's not a big deal. It's great having bluetooth and corded support, you can use whatever meets your needs.

Thanks for your replies, jivemaster, when you place the Kabuto between the screen and the keyboard, did the m14x is completely closed or is there a space when the Kabuto is placed?
EDIT: When I'm talking about space when it's placed, I mean like that: http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/4110/imageltu.jpg

I have a Kabuto... and it's a decent enough mouse pad for on the go. I don't put it between the screen and keyboard, though...

I jsut fold it up and stick it in the back.

The thing I don't like about the Kabuto is how little the mouse glides on the surface. Being used to the Razer Scarab... it feels a bit lacking...

I also have an Orochi and Mamba. IMO, the Mamba is a very good mouse; great feel, slick looking, and good sensor. That being said, I don't think you should get it for the M14x, because the charge station is the wireless sensor. So it would only make sense as a wired mouse with the laptop.

I think the Razer Imperator would be a better choice for the laptop. Slighly shorter back than the Mamba, but still very nice. Being a bit smaller, it would be better for putting inside a bag.

I'm personally using the Logitech G9x... and that works really well due to it's fairly small size and spectacular tracking...

As for the Orochi, IMO, it's performance just doesn't seem to live up to any of the larger mice. It's nice and small... but I feel at a real disadvantage whenever I'm gaming with it.

I'll use it as wired mouse no problem with it, if the Kabuto don't fit well between the screen and the keyboard I think I'll go with the Goliathus.

I second that the microsoft sidewinder is the best gaming mouse

in my opinion, the vertical side buttons make so much more sense than horizontal side buttons...don't know why other mice use horizontal side buttons

It will close, though it won't be 100% shut. Very close to it though.

I agree with the others - mamba is excellent for desktop purposes, but not portable enough for use with a laptop. Grab the orochi.

For portability I use the Razer Orochi... quite like it. You can use it wired or Bluetooth.

found the alienware tactx on ebay new for £40, seem quite happy with that.

Have been a big mx518 fans since the war and love the feel of it. Matching soft touch with..........you guessed it. Led lights. Blingtastic, much like the m14x

Regarded as the best RTS mouse ever made. I've won quite a few SC2 tournaments with this baby.
