I was ready to play a game, which usally run fine. But it was lagging quite badly, and then i tried to exit the game, and see the whitelist options , suddenly NVidia control panel was not there, i try clicking Nvidia settings on the taskbar, it says
"NVidia settings are not available, NVidia graphics card was not detected in ur system" What's going on ?

Restart the laptop? Because for me I used to get that problem once a while around 6-8 month ago usually after the GPU is overheated. After restart, it will fix the problem but if you still cant see it then leave it for a while to let the CPU cool down.

Mine did the same last night - I went to play Skyrim and wondered why it retested my video settings and set everything to medium (the Nvidia runs happily on Ultra). That was when I discovered the Nvidia card had 'disappeared'. NV control panel couldn't find it, it wasn't showing in device manager and I couldn't get the drivers to reinstall.

After much messing around with software I decided to have a look inside the case to see if there was any sign of a loose connection. Nothing obvious, but I reseated the RAM modules anyway, after which the card 'reappeared' and drivers installed fine.

Something odd seems to be going on - that is three threads in 24 hours with much the same symptoms.

So what driver version are you guys are using? Because for me the 296.10 is very unstable for clockspeed I use (800/1600), but that's never happen with the 295.73, and like I said in my above post, it only happen to me when at that time I did not have the turbo boost off and did not have a cooler, so it is happen very frequent where after exit game NVCP cant find the GT555M. If you still have get it fixed after leave it a few hours, then try reinstall the driver, that's might fix the problem.

I'm on 296.1, but haven't had it long so cannot really comment on stability. I don't overclock, and I deliberately bought an i5 to keep temperatures under control.

My box hasn't had a problem since, nor has it bluescreened (which it use to do from time to time, especially when coming out of standby), but really it is too early to say whether my issues are resolved.

I know this may sound a little too easy, but have you tried sweeping and reinstalling the drivers from scratch? There may be a corrupt file somewhere in your filesystem or registry that is connected with your Nvidia drivers, so try a registry clean and a driver sweep. Install the drivers again and see if that works.
If it doesn't, do a system diagnostic (found in the boot menu). This will give you an average temp reading for your GPU (to see if it is overheating). This will also give you a reading on the health of your hardware. If there is a loose connection or whatnot, it will show some error, I assure you. If no error is found in the system diagnostic, we can rule out any hardware issues and deal with the software.
Now, if none of this works, it may be a good idea for you to do a system restore and reload all of your drivers. I know it sucks, but that may be a better solution that working for days on a solution that is nowhere to be seen. However, before you do a system restore, look at what other people here say.

Just remember that only the people with issues show up around here for the most part. For every one of these machines with issues there is at least 10 happy campers. ;)

My M14x is amazing. I had a driver issue, but that was a problem with windows, and not with my laptop. Don't worry, this is a top-of-the-line laptop through and through.

yes heat is a huge issue with this machine, but if you take the precautions stated in the countless threads of info you should be good to go. :)

Have you installed the A08 Bios? there was a fix with stability issues on nvidia drivers... so i run 296.10 WHQL and it works with no clues ( no overclock )

No, the A08 apply to the GF116 version only, it is unaffected with those have the GF106. And by the look of his CPU, I guess he has the GF 106, since the GF116 is ship with the 2670QM/2760QM series. However it is worth a try. But remember it is not recommend if you're a SSD user since it will also limit the SATA speed to SATA 2 only.
