    Hey Man,

It seems to be really hard or impossible to install on M14X.

I've tried to follow tonymacx86. site guide, but without sucess, seems to be an incompatibility with M14X USB 3.0.

I really need to get any version of Lion (1.7.x) up running on my Alienware M14X. (rev1)
(I don’t need sound, GPU and could live without Wifi… I just need the system running outside a Virtual Machine on a bootable partition…)

    Here is where I'm at:
Since I've got the original HDD in a caddy driver and swapped for the CD/DVD, I'm no longer able to boot from DVD.
So I've been looking for a way to install booting form a USB Pen Drive or using a HD Partition.

    I. Under USB:
    - Made a USB install with an original 10.8.2 from apple store with UNIBEAST.
    - Ran Multibeast before 1st Install, trying to get the .kext for the USB drive to work…
(Using USB and External devices .kext from version 10.6.5 instead of 10.8…)
Also copied the .kext to Carnelian folder.

    1.1 Results:
Without the USB kext, error: Same as everyone elses “waiting for blablabla…”…

Using USB Kext rollback: it just stops, giving me no msg if that was an error or not, and the usb pendrive keeps blinking, so it could actually work but I probably forgot about something….

Any tips in how to get through the 1st install???

II. For the HD Partition, I've Tried so far:
    - The idea was to make a bootable installation partition and then install Lion in a different one (both active partitions).
    - Tried to share a 10gb partition, but the MACOS under VMware Win7 do not recognize it. (It is on my HDD installed in the same dock of the original CD/DVD).

    - So, I formatted the 10GB partition in FAT32, than, copied the files from the same USB mentioned above with MACDRIVE (under win7), to the 10GB Partition.
    - Booted from USB and did choose the HD-10gb-Partition with MACOX LION on FAT32!!!

    2.1 Results:
    - HEY-HOY! Now I’m getting a different error msg: “ACPI KERNEL PANIC”…

I’m total Noob, don’t know anything about MACOS installation processes, and my English sucks too.

    Please help me!

Is VMWare an option for you? Running OS X inside of windows?

Not Reallty, I need an app that wont work in a VM.

Found out that this might work, it's a full version with all the needed fixes and drivers: Niresh12495-OSX-10.8-USB

Thanks to this cool guy Niresh.

I will give it try tonight, since its Friday and I'm not single anyways...

    Keep you posted.
