You can indeed add an extra HDD to the m14x but it must be traded for the optical drive. The process is done step by step on a post a few pages back.

Some m14x have had issues with certain drives and firmware, good idea to have a thorough read through the posts before making a final decision.

OCZ Vertex 3 and the M4 are probably the fastest 2. The m14x does appear to have some issues operating sata3 at the speeds these drives are theoretically capable of. Again, read before you make a final decision.

I personally would avoid the agility 3 as it just uses cheaper memory than the vertex 3 to my knowledge. There is a superb how to guide on housing the original HD in your optical bay.

You may want to look at the last generation of SSD like the C300 to avoid compatibilty issues.

SSD's definitely make for a fast boot and nippier system, have had a vertex 2 in my gaming rig for 12 months now and I love it. plus if your using the optical bay, you dont have to worry about such a large SSD and save a few quid :)
