    Hi,
    I have an alienware m14x R1,

    Specs:
Processor: Intel core i5-2410M CPU 2.30GHZ (not using turbo mode)
    Ram: 4GB
Video card: Nvidia GT 555M 3GB
    display: 1366 x 768 60hz
    445GB HDD

And I wanted to buy a monitor for it(later on I may also upgrade the RAM).
I was wondering, what monitor would be a good one to have?
Or should I let dell upgrade my monitor to the 1600 x 900 one? This would cost me €75 dell mailed. But I would prefer a 1080p 120hz monitor.

I don't have the money yet for any monitor, but I wanted to decide where I'll save up for already.

imo i would go for the 900p and save for the monitor too.

but if you really cant, and plan on having your laptop on a desk, and don't move it much go for the monitor (implying you are gonna have the monitor plugged in always), if not, just get the 900p its a huge improvement, i ♥ it

ps: i don't really think you can play any new game over 60FPS (on ultra or high)

I mostly play games like Sonic, and lot's of MMORPG's on this computer. Not games like cod or skyrim.
And I'm also planning on saving up for a desktop computer, so the monitor would pretty much the first part for that. I'm going to use it about always at home and probably take it with me on lan partys.

That monitor you posted gearsguy is 50/60hz, I'm really looking for 120hz as I heard that makes a big difference. (It also doesn't seem to be on any dutch selling site.) But thanks for the suggestion. :)

    Currently considering:
XL2420T/TX | The XL Journey | BenQ Gaming Monitor
I found the XL2420T one on a dutch site, quite expensive compared to yours, 350euro. I haven't found the XL2420TX one anywhere yet.
Not sure if it's too much of the good though, still looking for other monitors

A few days ago I went to my new coming soon school, I though everything would be done on the computers at school. But I heard it's still better to bring your own laptop, if possible.
So I though it may be better to go for the 900p one. And I mailed dell.

It looks like that if your LCD screen is broken in your warranty, and like to upgrade it, it'll cost just 75 EUR. (= about 95 USD)

If your LCD screen is not broken, and you want an upgrade, the LCD suddenly costs 217 EUR, and the technician 159, total 376 EUR ?! ( = about 476 USD)
