    Hey all,

Was just curious if anyone had any recommendations for gaming mouse pads? I bought one @ Best Buy because I was in a rush, but I would like something a lot larger then this mobile gaming mat from Razer. I have a g400 mouse from Logitech. I'd love to have something comparable to a fat pad I had years ago for counter-strike. I know there are a ton out there, but thought would ask for suggestions first.

Any help/links would be appreciated it.

    Chris

I'm assuming you picked up the razer kabuto. I actually have one and I love it as a mouse pad. Also doubles as extra padding inbetween your keyboard and screen. I do understand where your coming from though. It is a tad bit on the small side.

Yea it def is. It's not THAT small, but I would love something where I don't have to worry about running out of room to try and do a 360 in BF3. lol

i'm using kabuto as well for work, when at home i plug into my kvm and use steel series qck, the big 1.. my experience is that both provide the similar drag.. the frustration of having different surface is to cope with the drag difference the first moment u change them.. i change everyday so i'm glad they give me the similar drag.. was using some cheapo mobile pad which gives more drag so finally gave up and got kabuto...

Does the Kabuto fit between the screen/keyboard while the laptop is closed? My m14x is on the way and I'm thinking about buying this pad.

Yes. It does fit between the screen keyboard when closed it also works as a screen cleaner as well, but that's what the box said. It works ok, but I would still like to get something a lot bigger since my mouse is a normal sized one.

    I have the pad here:

Razer Vespula Gaming Mouse Mat | RazerStore

The thing is monstrous and has two sides. One side it says is for speed, and the other accuracy. I've only ever used the accuracy side as I like the way it tracks across the pad better. And when I say monstrous, I mean a full 13 inches at its widest. There's no hope of it fitting between the lcd and keyboard though. I also do not use the wrist pad that came with it. It's too stiff for me.

I hear a lot of good things about the Steelseries QCK mousepads.

I'm sorry but could someone explain why a "gaming mousepad" is necessary? I've never had problems playing on a bare desk ...

Gaming mousepads make the mouse track more precisely and allow for differing levels of glide (how hard or easy it is to move the mouse). Some gamers are very particular about how their mouse performs.

It depends on your mouse... some track just fine on a desk others have issues (like a white folding desk) and require a mouse pad.
