As subject said, no matter I try it just detect the Intel GPU, even I whitelist to force the game to play using Nvidia GPU or right click n select High Performance GPU, it will just keep selecting the Intel GPU.

Anyone has this problem too? And has anyone got any solution? For other game, yes it also auto-select the Intel GPU, but when I force it to play with Nvidia GPU, then I will do it after I restart the game, but not this GTA4, it is just stubbornly wont play it.

Or is there any option I can completely disable the Intel GPU while plugged in and have it enable while one battery? Because it is quite annoying that I have to whitelist every single game after the installation if I want to play it at high performance.

Do you think it is because of that new BIOS A03? If is there any way to revert back to A01?

the issue was common with the stock dell drivers and teh .27 that we 1st upgraded to. you need to install the 275.33 drivers and then it should run fine. :D

Nevermind about the revert, because I have successfully install the 275.33 Driver version, BUT GTA4 for some unknown reason it do detect the RAM instead it show me that 3029MB is smaller than 242MB, it said that I have overuse the memory and wont allow me to change the setting at all.

This is how it look like:

put this in your shortcut and launch "-width 1280 -height 720 -refreshrate 60 -availablevidmem 8000 -percentvidmem 100 -nomemrestrict -norestrictions"

or change resolution to anything you want

8000 for memory should work fine but you can try other numbers

    ;)

You have to right click on the shortcut and paste the command lines in, like this:

This is how mine look like:

    "F:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -norestrictions -nomemrestrict -availablevidmem 50 -minspecaudio

After the < LaunchGTAIV.exe" > paste in the command line. Then run your game as you normally do, however you will see that it still doesnt detect the GPU, but it allow you to change the setting to whatever setting you like.

    Hope this help.

after testing i think there is a greater problem, i think that GTA4 doesn't really like Optimus technology and i think GTA is just using the 1GB vid mem used by the intel 3000 chipset, I think it explains why we can only see less than 1gb of memory available in the graphic options

This could explain the low performance on this game and on others

if i understood it well, Nvidia is working on a fix maybe in the new drivers which are not yet available for our M14x babies

GTA IV on GeForce GT 325M problem - NVIDIA Forums

    see latest posts, cheers

by the way what are your performances using max settings?

mine are not good, 1600 900 all set to highest settings and i get under 30fps
    around 25

with 2820 i7 3gb of vid mem and 8gb of system

OOOPS NVIDIA FORUM POSTS IS FROM 2010 LOOOOOOOOL

    SORRY ;)

but i really think the performance are so awful, and still it looks like we are still suffering this bug

hey what i did was go to the stock dell drivers... then whitelist everything i need, and then upgrade to 275.33 .. but make sure in the install that "perform a clean install" isnt checked. then it will keep your settings

Hey guys, quick question, I'm not entirely sure where I'm meant to but this in on GTA IV. I know there was meant to be some sorta solution where you create a text document called commandline and type something in that, but that didn't do much for me :p
Just yeah, put it in the shortcut?

Yeap, just paste the commandline onto the shortcut target.

Did you try uninstall the game and try again? And if you can, try the 280.26 version, because some people here saying that it fix the problem, but it also cause other problem on other game, so I just want to stick with 275.33 for now.

I may just be an idiot... But what do you mean by putting those settings into a shortcut?
