GTA4 is one of a few games that even you whitelist it, you still get low performance, the only way to bypass that is to use the commandline on the shortcut, Follow the link to my old thread here > GTA4 Doesnt detect Nvidia GPU?. And this is the benchmark I use to run back when I have GTA4 installed, and it is also for one of a fellow NBR user when he/she demand to see the benchmark GTA4 Benchmark, Note in the picture, you will see it still using the Intel iGP, that because of the game detect whatever the default card is being use, well most game do that.

As for the spec, I dont think it will make any different since the M14x spec are very similar, and you know what, the user who demand me for the benchmark, he/she has the highest configuration for the M14x and still manage to get a low performance, Oh one more thing, there're 2 version for the GTA4, the DVD version and Steam version, for some reason, the DVD version seem to be more stable and able to have a better performance than the Steam version, because I have the DVD version while mittens14x (user who demand me for the benchmark) manage to get a lower fps.

the reason iceenhancer doesnt work is beacuse it hooks to the d3d8.dll which is used by optimus, this interrups optimus operation and you only run on the onboard intel but it wouldn make a big change anyways i think

if a modded bios that is similar to the m17x's comes out it will work ;) the modded bios that I have for my m17x allows me to turn off the Igpu. If you could do that, I think it would run the game fine :) Only problem is the lack of a bios that can do that from what I know :(

I wish that someone would create it fom the M14x too, so then I dont have to whitelist every game I install, however there are some games like GTA4 for example that for some reason still not working even whitelist that is the problem. But I doubt since M17x use the same structure as M14x -- by having the same CPU with integrated GPU and a dedicated GPU -- it can be easier if someone just take that file and implement it for the M14x and if possible for other laptop that have the same structure as the M17x/M14x.
