I just got the computer and swapped in my OCZ Vertex2 SSD as the main drive and use a caddy for my old Toshiba 750gb . Everything seems to be working well until I installed the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) drivers. Now I am getting random freezes (for 1min-2 mins) when I access the Toshiba drive and I found the following event in the log.

The device, \Device\Ide\iaStor0, did not respond within the timeout period.

Did any of you have similar issue??

P.S. If I don't install the RST driver, I got some random freezes mostly when I am gaming. And the event log is
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort1.

Leave the RST Drivers off. Unplug your 750GB HD and see how it runs. It sounds like your Toshiba drive isn't connected correctly.

Uninstalled RST for now to avoid the computer freeze. I tried and removed the 750GB as well and the error goes away. However, I do need the extra drive since my SSD is only 90GB :(

With RST installed and SSD alone, the computer will still act up and freeze/hang/BSOD

It is SSD related and you need the latest firmware or the LPM fix.

Dont know much about the Vertex 2 firmware fixes but Vertex 2 is known for having freeze problems. LPM fix will fix it but try the firmware first.
