Ok my brother and I recently both purchased identical m14x's. We both have been playing WoT (World Of Tanks) and his seems to be running around 60-70 fps while mine is down around 5-20. I want to know if anyone has some solutions to this problem? Thanks,
    Hamster.

I think probably you are running the game on intel hd3000 while your brother is running it on gt555m. Just do a search on the forums on how to white list the game and run in on dedicated GPU.

My Nvidia GPU is definitely running, because i have the activity monitor on

And my temperatures run between 50-65 degrees which doesnt seem to be the problem either.

How about try OC your GT555M? And install either the 295.73 or the 296.10, for me I recommend 295.73 because the 296.10 is very unstable for my clockspeed. Btw if possible whitelist every .exe file in the WoT folder and be sure that you select the "High Performance NVIDIA Processor" instead of "Global Setting" just to make sure that the NVCP instruct the GT555M to play WoT.

And one more thing, I'm download the game right now, since I see you having so many problem with that game, so I might want to see if I'm going to have the same problem like yours or not.

Did you make sure your drivers are updated? Just thowing idea's out there. If you haven't already, whitelist the game .exe to make sure the gt 555m is really running. If you need help with that check my sig. :)

Edit: CGSDR Beat me to the punch :p but it should run it maxxed out as I was playing WoT on my old 460m with optimus at 60fps with not even 100% of the GPU was being used.

I presume you dont understand what "OC" mean, if then sorry about that, anyway, OC stand fore OverClock, and what I'm trying to tell you is to overclock your GT555M to a higher clockspeed meaning to force your GPU to run at a faster speed which will reduce the lifetime of the GPU in return of giving you a better overall performance to all programs that you whitelist to use the GT555M in the NVCP (NVIDIA Control Panel). The overclocking process is easy by just download the right software, install then start the program, then start slide the slider to OC the GPU then click on Apply then you're good to go!

EDIT: As I stated in my previous post, that I download the game, now I've install and run the game, the graphic was auto-detect and have set to Ultra @ 1600x900, and I test it by joining a training game (honestly I have no idea what I'm doing ), but the fps is around 40-45. Without any lag.

What I've done prior starting the game is I whitelist the WorldOfTanks.exe and WOTLauncher.exe to the NVCP and select "High performance NVIDIA Processor" click apply then run the game.

Have you also try lower the setting down? Because if it run on the GT555M then you should never getting only less than 10 fps, that's impossible.

Have you checked your power settings? Make sure it's set to Balanced or High Performance. Also, I presume you're gaming while connected to power right?

    Hey,
Thanks for your help so far and I'm sorry to keep bothering you all but I'm still having issues. I have updated drivers, set the correct power suppl and white-listed the crap out of every .exe file anywhere near the game. This means I now have it running at 25 -30fps, still a far cry from my bro's 50 -60. I am also having trouble with Guild Wars One, as I can only run it on low settings at 1600p and that causes a 95 degree cpu.

So any more ideas? Or any way to check if it is a hardware problem?
    Thanks, crZyhamSter

*EDIT* Sorry bigtonyman you are correct I meant 900p screen.

1600p as in an external monitor? or as in the built in one? The Laptop LCD is 900p not 1600p. ;) as to your issues, it might be time to call dell and see if they can help you troubleshoot it. If there is a hardware problem, they will get you parts ASAP. ;)

You may also want to check your firewall settings, set them to allow WOT, instead of auto. I play the game on my m14x and had been running 40-75FPS now that I did a slight OC I'm able to run 70-103FPS temps stay around 60c with additional cooler fans under my laptop

If u r using driver 296.10 .change it to 295.73
Cause 296.10 was giving me low fps in games and when I change to 295.73 the fps increased

I've been running the driver 296.10 on WOT it seems to have a higher FPS then the 295.73 I can hit 127FPS at times and only 120FPS with 295.73, don't think you would notice the difference but any way. The only way I could get my FPS on WOT to drop to 20 FPS or so was to unplug my power supply putting me on battery. Hope this helps. Let the Forum know what fixes your problem................
