    Good Day Guys!

    I was just wondering if anyone had ever encountered this.
    I was playing black ops yesterday and there were random instances that my FPS dips way low and then itll recover and come back up again. it happens all of a sudden. it doesnt matter if there are 20 people on screen or if youre just walking somewhere. randomly the FPS just dips down. its quite annoying and i was wondering if anyone had encountered this and if you guys have found a fix for this. thanks! :) and this also happens in my m11x r1. anyone have any idea whats happening?

    P.S. i have tried using throttle stop, i dont thin it works :(

    Thank you for your time!

    I would take a look in the battery plan ( advanced configuration ) and set the " High performance " profile with these settings :
    Minimum CPU activity 100%
    Maximum CPU activity 100%

    I know you tried ThrottleStop, but that's the only explanation I got.

    PS : Are you sure you turned TS on ? Once its started, you have to adjust the settings you want and click "Turn On" for it to work.

    Have you checked your GPU temperatures? Your GPU could be overheating and throttling down. ThrottleStop can't really help if this is the case.

    @SpectatorZero
    GPU temps are about 50-65, those number are within the safe zone, right?

    @Super Octet
    i'll double check and make sure its turned on :) about the minimum and maximum cpu activity, do those affect gaming?

    Thank you for your replies :)

    Well, I'm not sure if it affects gaming, but that would be a quite plausible explanation given the fact that the dips are apparently random.

    Indeed, the CPU multiplier is constantly changing in normal use, and that -could- cause the dips in fps.
    ThrottleStop would maintain the CPU clock at a given level and you'd know instantly if the CPU is the cause of the problem.

    could also just be your internet :0 gaming FPS isnt soley based off your GPU, everything comes into play, you can have the best GPU in the world but if your using Dial up, your screwed!

    Guys! sorry for reviving my old thread.. I am having trouble using throttlestop for my m14x

    how do i stop my cpu from throttling? as of now i set "Set Multiplier" to "Turbo". but i dont think its working.. the multipliers still jump from 10-23 :9

    can anyone help me? its really irritating when the FPS just dips way low while gaming..

    thank you for your time :D

    Not sure if you found a fix to this or not, but have you checked what processes and applications are running in the background? Thats the only other thing I can think of, almost like the FPS drops for a min, due to heavy usage in a background app, then resumes when the bakground app is done doing what it was doing.

    what does throttlestop actually do? is it just the same as intel turbo boost?

    thanks for all of your input guys :D

    I finally fixed my problem by setting min & max cpu perf to 100%!

    thanks!!

    @smokingjam
    i believe it prevents cpu throttling :D

    i think so, since the game doesnt use the cpu fully all of the time, the cpu's power saving feature will throttle the cpu down to save battery. thus reducing you fps cuz it will go down and up and down...
