Hey guys! So I got my new Alienware 14 about 2 weeks ago and everything has been going great except for one thing. Connected devices seem to not reconnect to the USB ports or through bluetooth after a period of time. As an example, I had my USB 3.0 External Hard Drive connected to one of the USB ports before I went to sleep. Before I went to sleep, I put the drive in all 3 ports and it worked in every one of them (this was directly after restarting). When I woke up, I unplugged the drive from it's USB port and tried the other two and they didn't work at all. Restarting always fixes this issue.I'm also on Windows 8.1.
It seems that the drives are going to sleep and never waking up? I've gone into the device manager and literally unticked the "allow device to turn off to save power" on everything I could find it on, and it hasn't fixed it. Is it a BIOS problem? A driver problem? I'm really not sure what to do, restarting always fixes it and it's that bad with an ssd but it's annoying on a brand new laptop. If anyone had any insight on what to do it would be great!
