Well, it seems I wont be able to have the money for the m14x, unless I somehow get a second job, until August/ End of september. Do you think by then it would be worth waiting for the R2? I wouldn't care if I bought it now and the R2 came out, but I don't wanna buy one in November and then R2 is announced in December.

I would say at least a year. They may have a rev. 2 battery or fan or something before that though.

buy one now, either buy it now with the buy back plan, or sell the r1 and buy the r2

I would think Ivy Bridge (and thus the R2) will not be sooner than February. It's announced for 1H 2012, but with amd not providing much competition these days, they're not going to push it out early imo.

About a year + 3 months or minus a month for the R2. And that's assuming it is so popular over that year that they keep it in the lineup and don't change it out (like the death of the M15x). A year is a lot of time for the market to decide whether something lives or dies.

Dont forget the whole point is that I can't buy until September, so buying now and selling later isnt an option at all ;)

So you dont think we might see an AMD GPU upgrade at all this year (thats my guess to the only thing they could add; don't know if thatd be R2 or not)
