    Is it possible?

Iv had my M14X for a year this upcoming month and just wondered if Dell has any kind of trade in service for an updated model.

Haven't found any info on Dells site yet.

    Cheers.

ps id obviously pay the difference for an update.

I have not seen or heard of anything of this sort. Your best bet would be to sell your existing unit and purchase an R2. Hopefully you have more than a month of warranty remaining on your unit; a manufactures warranty that has not tolled always helps a unit sell. I sold my basic R1 i7 model for around $1000; that made the cost of upgrading worth it to me. You can check what configurations similar to yours are going for on eBay and amazon.com.

    Good luck.

The only way I've heard to do this is if you buy Dell's "TechForward" buyback plan at the time you get the laptop. If you did, then you should be able to get probably about 40% of its original purchase price discounted from your new one. If not, then I think you might be out of luck.

I inquired about upgrading my R1 to an R2 with AW tech support. Not all of the parts are internally interchangeable. You cant convert an R1 to an R2 without replacing the chassis which means you might as well buy an R2 and sell your R1.
