So i received my m14x yesterday and i had to fully test it out. I ran wow( Plugged in) for about 6 hours straight and lemme tell you this thing is a pure beast! Here are the results:

    Ultra:
    - 40-60 fps in main crowded section of orgrimmar.
    - 50-60 fps in battleground and 10 main raids.( Sometimes jumped to a bit over 70)
    - 70- 80 fps just wandering around in low population zones.

    High Settings
    - 85-100fps in crowded part of orgrimmar.
    - 95-120 fps in bgs(Alterac valley) and about 90-100 fps in 10 man raids.
    - 115-150 fps outside org just wandering in lowly populated area. Sometimes even jumped to 164 fps.

**Didnt even test low settings b.c its just not worth it, anything over 60 fps is literally good enough to handle any possible thing this game throws your way.

    Startup Time:

This is what truly amazed me. My wow startup time on desktop can take up to 10 seconds for me to get to login, and then when entering world, that loading screen usually takes about 50-90 seconds to login and for all the world/characters to pop up another 5-10 seconds. This thing lemme tell you right now an ssd for wow is not needed whatsoever. I opened wow, instantly to login screen, and then only 6 seconds to login and have everything/everybody fully shown and spawned. Ive never seen wow run so fast and so smooth in my life. As for the fans they do pump fast and can get pretty loud, if you have headphones u wont hear a thing. But these fans do there job, 6 hours straight and not once did my temp go over 72 degrees. I was playing on a regular dinner table. You can probably even game with this on your lap for hours and the only part that gets sorta hot is the back by the fan, so this thing is truly a beast. I have no laptop cooler or paste used either, straight out of the box. As for battery life cant test much since i ran plugged in but, someday this week il run wow on battery and test that. For anyone wondering how this plays with wow, just stop, callin and order it. Ive never experienced wow like this and its truly insane.

If you have any other specific questions or requests leave a post and il reply.

crysis 2 in advanced mode is the highest playabe, i get 25-40 fps. in hardcore mode, its laggy, kind of not playable. It's laggy when idle, around 25 fps, and unplayable during battle, around 15 or less fps. Even at idle it's not smooth. But advanced works perfectly and looks amazing.

Thanks for this post. +rep, I've been looking for this information specifically. Your laptops specs are almost exactly the specs I will be purchasing.

I'm curious; what graphics card driver are you currently using? Are you using the straight out-of-the-box dell driver or are you using the modded one from Nvidia?

Nvidia one but its not modded, i simply downloaded it from the nvidia site. Its w.e version they have on their site like 275. something. Its straight out of the box but i did make sure wow was running on the nvidia card, that i updated when i recieved it.

How is this possible? In theory you shouldn't be able to download GPU drivers from Nvidia... :eek2:

I tried that a week ago and although it downloaded, it doesn't recongnize the GT555 inside the m14x. From what others told me currently we can only get the nividia drivers from dell or some 3rd party hack. So I guess they changed it and we can use the official drivers of nividia site?

You can check which driver you're on by going into Control Panel > Device Manager > Display Adapter <Right click/> Properties > Driver. The driver that you see in that window is the driver actually running the graphics card.

I'm really curious to see if they changed it so we can download straight from Nvidia. Keep us posted please, thanks.

Yep for some reason it recognizes my driver. I was able to download the update straight from nvidia and now when i check it through windows it says my driver the nvidia gt 555 is fully up to date. So idk if its just because maybe mines a newer one and maybe it detected it? I also upgrade to BIOS 3 if anyone didnt.

Does windows say your driver (in the device manager) is the 275 version or 263 (or sth different)? For some OEM machines (such as my Acer), windows will recognize the driver as "up to date" because windows compares my driver with the one on the OEM website, not the one on the Nvidia site.

In other words, did you even install the nividia driver after you downloaded it? I just tried to install nividia drivers again and it doesn't work.

Mine works. The first time i tried it, it gave me an error and said like cant find nvidia gt555 or w,e but then i manually found it and then when i installed, it worked just fine and the whole update was installed.

Any ideas why my fps is so low on wow? Granted, Illidan U.S. is decently populated, my frames are nowhere near the OP's on high settings. Have almost identical specs as well. Running on High Performance settings, I'm managing < 20 fps in crowded center of Orgrimmar.

I was having the same problem since the new patch 4.2 came out. Try updating your addons. The one causing my problem was Recount. Don't know if that will help but this computer has been running wow for me at 75 fps on ultra with shadows on good. Hope this helps.

well, fps seems to have improved by simply restarting comp whenever I'm noticing any slowdown, fps in 10 man setting is at 60-80, sometimes higher in firelands

My fps when I'm doing dailies and such in firelands with heavy traffic by players is around 65-70 and heroics is around 65 as well. Haven't raided yet since my gear is not ready yet :( Btw I'm on US Hellscream.

    Hello!

What driver did you use for the 3GB NVIDIA card? My friend has 20 FPS and less than 100 FPS in a game like Counter Strike Source.

    Thanks for answer!
