My m14x seems to be dying whenever I unplug it from the charger. Don't know how or what happened.

I had the same problem, and it seems I have fixed it. I just had to "reseed" the battery and it seems to be working and actually staying on and discharging when I unplug now.

Follow the steps in the teardown manual here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...-m14x-disassembly-teardown-upgrade-guide.html But only to the part where you remove the battery. Unplug it from the motherboard, make sure that the cable connection to the battery itself is firmly connected (you will most likely need to take the battery out for this) and then put the battery back and make sure the cable is firmly connected to the mobo again and you should be good to go. Hopefully this helps ;)
