Has anybody tried hooking up two external monitors via MiniDP + HDMI?

If so, does the internal display still work? Or are you limited to the two external? Or does it work at all?

    Thanks

I'm literally 1 click away from ordering a Dell UltraSharp U2211H 21.5-inch IPS panel for $227 after tax but I need to know if the m14x can run two because I have a Samsung 23" I'd like to keep

IME I have only been able to do 2 screens at a time. So 2 ext but no internal. BTW the U2211h is awesome!

I think the biggest question is the one asked at the end of the linked thread:

If it's just duplicated, then supporting 4 displays is a little pointless. The person confirming driving 4 displays never answered which.

I'll echo Romanamon's experiences based on other laptops, but I've never really been able to drive 3 displays simultaneously (spanned, not duplicated). Does the GT 555M support whatever Nvidia's version of Eyefinity is called?

I hooked up two different screens, VGA AND HDMI, and all three screens can run together.

I can choose if I want to duplicate the main screen, or extend the desktop to the three screens.

I can't test Display Port because I don't have any DP cable nor DP connector on my screens.

I can confirm that all the display connection can work simultaneously on the m14x. Display Port + HDMI + VGA + laptop display. 4 displays at the same time expanded. 1 x 24" Dell UltraSharp (DP), 1 x 21" Dell Ultrasharp (HDMI to DVI), 1 x 17" NEC (VGA) rockin!
