I got a brand new M14x Alienware. It worked well, I installed some games (Portal, The Witcher) which played great. Then I had the idea to download every windows update and the latest GPU update directly on Dell.com (267.21, A01). After that, I can't play to anymore game. When I start any game, it crashes and I get a BSOD which is due to the nvlddmkm.sys driver. I don't know what to do and I need your help.

    My configuration is:
    AW M14X
    6GB DDR3 at 1600MHz
    Intel Core i7 2630QM 2.0GHz
NV GeForce GT555M 1.5GB VRAM (without OC)
    750GB 7,200RPM SATA-II HDD

    Thanks!

Dude I had the same problem with my Alienware m14xr1.
I talked to the customer care agent and sent him the .dmp file which is created when the nvlddmkm.sys type BSOD is appeared in the minidump of windows folder.
I debugged that file. The result was "TDR Driver Fault". Then that guy replied me with the solution.

THE SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE YOUR GPU .. IN OUR CASE ITS THE WHOLE MOTHERBOARD. BECAUSE THE GRAPHIC CARDS COMES WITH THE MOTHERBOARD. THEN THE DELL REPAIR CREW CAME TO MY HOUSE AND REPLACED THE WHOLE MOTHERBOARD. THE WHOLE PROCEDURE TOOK AROUND A WEEK. IT WAS NO TROUBLE . I DID NOT A PENNY. OBVIOUSLY IT WAS ALL FREE OF COST SINCE THE LAPTOP IS IN WARRANT PERIOD.

Dont worry the laptop works very well after the replacement of the motherboard.

    Regards.

They told me it wasn't the computer itself so I need to call the On Call cause it was probably a software problem, but they wanna charge me 130$ for it. So I told them I would try to find the problem by myself. Does anyone has an idea of what I can do?
