I have had my m14x for awhile now and never really noticed it til late but everytime my computer is turned on I hear a pop noise from the woofer (guess) right at the end of the windows 7 loading screen.

Is anyone else hearing this or is there somethign wrong with my laptop?

My knees pop when I get up or sit down from/to play(ing) Skyrim.

    Does this count?

Seriously though, it's your internal speakers activating. I hear a slight pop when I wear earphones when it turns (me) on.

I get a pop as well. I changed the settings to keep the soundboard on at all times to minimize the number of pops I hear. Check out the realtek control panel.

It's common, everyone got that, so dont worry about it much, as for myself I also got that, every time I start the laptop, sometime when opening any software with the speaker muted also get that "pop" sound.

I've always thought it was just the sub on the bottom activating. It's normal

This noise is actually from a surge of power to the low frequency speaker ( Sub). It is not actually normal but, it is not out of the ordinary. Just wanted to share.
