Just curious if you use it? Or do you use a sleeve instead?

I use mine everytime i take it with me somewhere. It adds some extra protection from scratches from mouse, zippers, and cords inside your carrying bag. i use a targus 17" carrying bag to take mine with me.

Since I use the M14x Orion Messenger Bag, I don't use the sleeve.

But I do use it when at home and it is turned off, to prevent dust and other things from getting in it.

Btw, side note: Can I just use like, Windex stuff on the screen?

My M14x is more valuable than all the other things I have in my home... combined (I'm poor :( ).

You better believe I use the cloth sleeve on it. All the time.

I use the sleeve and a targus 14 inch bag. It also works as a mousepad for my Razer Mamba lol

Don't use windex on any screen, it's meant for windows. Windex and other glass cleaners contain ammonia and alcohol that can damage and discolor the lcd screens. Use a screen cleaner that is non alcoholic and ammonia free. May i suggest cleandr? Can get it on ebay for 7 bucks free shipping. Comes with a microfiber cloth and a fairly big bottle.

And yes i use the m14x sleeve, to protect my macbook lol. It also makes a good mousepad for gaming as well.

I use the sleave when traveling, otherwise not.

Recommendation use distilled or purified water on your slightly damp cloth. Hard and/or city water may leave mineral/chemical deposits over time.

Yeah dont use windex. I use a slightly damn microfiber cloth from water, and then even wipe the screen with that. Afterwards I use a dry microfiber cloth to get rid of the water streaks

I slide mine over the screen only and make sure it's perfectly flat so I can close the laptop easily. I use the cover to protect the screen from the infamous track pad mark. It drives my nuts seeing a rectangle on my screen because I closed it. The sleeve helps prevent this from happening, and still protects most of the laptop. From there it goes in either my M14x portfolio bag or my Swiss Gear laptop bag.

Ever since I used windex on my screen ONCE the trackpad mark doesnt show up for me anymore.... sadly that didnt stop it from leaving a pretty significant scratch :(

If anyone doesnt need their cloth ill pay $20 +5 to ship it to me :)

I bought an orion sleeve from dell but its a tight fit and i dont like the fact that putting it in the sleeve will cause the coating to peel.

I have been using a targus cleaning kit which is resold by HP and it seems to do quite a nice job. The kit contains a brush blower, antistatic non-alcoholic fluid in a spray bottle and a microfibre cloth.

A quick tip for people who are fed up with the keyboard and touch pad impressions on the screen when you close the lid. You can use a synthetic fibre cloth which comes as packing material for covering many electronic stuffs. If its larger than the required size, just cut it to the required dimension and use it between the screen and keyboard when ever you close the lid. I'm sure it will do the job.

I have been using it for sometime and I don't get any mark on my screen any more. Hope this helps.
