Was wondering if it's my eyes or not.

Granted, I got the regular screen (the 768 display) but is it me or is the screen so bright that everything looks washed out?

Is there a way to change this?

Is it always look like that or sometimes only? Does it happen when the laptop is on battery or on AC power?

It seems that some laptops decrease the display quality in certain situations(like on battery) to conserve power. My Toshiba R835 will make everything look washed out when unplugged, but will get back to normal after a while, I have no idea why.

You mean the colour look like it is less colourfulness? You can increase the Saturation in the Intel HD Graphic Properties (You can find it in the Control Panel called "Intel(R) Graphics and Media") click it and navigate to " Display" >"Colour Enhancement" > "Saturation", for my setting I slide it to 20, so it is up to you, whether u like more colour in it. I suggest you messing around with the setting in that control panel because it is like your Monitor menu adjustment.

Note: Sometime when you uninstall your NVIDIA Driver, the colour saturation from the Intel HD Graphic sometime reset, but you can fix it by set the saturation again.

this likely means either your saturation is too low or your gamma is too high , more likely to be gamma as gamma is how whitewashed the display is, you may also want to try reducing your brightness, as at high levels this will also cause whitewashing

I believe this could help, however I've always recommended to go for the better screen on Alienware machines. It looks a lot better on full HD.
