I currently have the M11x, but there's some issues surrounding display duplication, specifically to a VGA projector or Monitor. I see the MX14 has a vga port. Are people able to duplicate the display to an external projector with a VGA cable... showing the same thing on the projector that is on the laptop display.

Yes, you can even use it with a HDTV, VGA or HDMI all are able to duplicate the display. And I also duplicate the screen a lot when I'm doing presentation.

Maybe you can answer this, CGSDR.

About a month ago I did a Windows Update and it messed up my HDMI. When I plug it in my TV, I get a stretched screen (acts as a dual monitor) or one screen with be active while the other goes black. I can no longer have a duplicate display.

Any ideas? I toyed with the display settings for an hour and finally just gave up.

HDMI goes through the GT 555M, so maybe you should try to do a clean install of your NVIDIA drivers? Try a stable driver and not a beta one also.

Well, what I do to duplicate the screen is in the Screen Resolution found by right click on the Desktop then when you have either a HDMI or a VGA cable plug in, you'd see a 4th option where it has option such as show only monitor 1 or only monitor 2, or show both monitor. And like Gearsguy said, the HDMI is control by the GT555M, thus the setting can also be found in the NV Control Panel too.
