Hey all , Recently i've been playing Diablo 3 and with the latest beta drivers and i've been having iffy performance. I get fine FPS when fighting mobs, but with larger mobs my frames drop and i get owned quickly. I've tweaked every possible setting in game and on my nvidia control panel to no avail. Diablo3 doesn't seem to be overheating either ( Temps sit at 60-70 tops)

Anyone play with the 304.48 drivers ? This performance issues are starting to annoy me

I did see the slow down with the beta drivers, so I rolled back to the last 301 drivers. Also of note I still did see minor issues with the 301 drivers that might be attributed to the "performance increase" of the Diablo 3 patch.

Figured as much, maybe it's the game and it's lack of optimization whatsoever but i always hear people saying here that they run Diablo 3 pegged @ 100FPS maxed out with lower configurations than me. I'll see if rolling back helps , Only good thing that came out of the beta drivers is the fact that it fixed my "Driver stopped responding but has recovered" error.

How is performance in other games for you?

I have only had time to play a bit of LIMBO, nothing to really tax the GPU. I plan on skipping the 304 drivers unless Blizz comes out with another performance patch for Diablo.

I rolled back and i do believe there is obvious better performance. I checked the temperatures and saw that they stayed at 65-75 are those Diablo 3 normal temps? or is my CPU not being utilized fully? I have turbo mode off but even so when playing BF:BC 2 my temps are higher than this.

That is about where my CPU is, sounds normal to me.

Set Disable Trilinear filter in D3prefs.txt to "1".
Copy the entire Game on 16gb sd card or fast USB Drive.
    Overclock your GPU.
Set your screen resulotion to 1368x766.

With this settings the Game runs as smooth like butter for me.
Even with some tweaks via NVIDIA Inspector (4xmsaa).

Hey Diablo 3 is the reason why i bought a new laptop.
Its very smooth on my rig but i had to make some tweak. Solid 60 fps with everything maxed out but shadow disabled.

    But everything isn't perfect.

When i start the game and join and game i always have 3-4 minutes with horrible freeze with huge fps drop. Everything's fine after 5min. Dont know how to fix this.

For some reason i had to activate Vsync. I have some strange lag without it.

Wait for next nvidia drivers. As new apple Laptop come with 650m GT l wont be surprise to see new great drivers coming in the next few weeks.

    Ps : Im using stock driver 290.16 ( or 296.16 cant remember ;) )

@Mr.Nate is it that effective to disable trilinear filter?

    Cheers.

That freeze you see at the moment you log in is usual, since it starts loading assets server side. So it's pretty common .

Disable Trilinear Filter fix the fps drops.

Copy on sd card or flash drive fix the lag in the first few minutes of the game, and also the micro stutter ingame.

I play D3 on R1 and I have only one major problem, and it's strange.

The power button bar gets VERY hot around the button itself, like close to 100 C, maybe more.
This does not happen with Skyrim on Ultra or with any other game/software.

    Any clue?

I called AW tech support and they say it's the fan, but since it only seems to occur with D3, I have doubts.

    Thanks.

Currently as I write this I am playing D3. I dl-ed the new drivers and have all set to High minus shadows which are at medium. Also with the new patch have it set to Medium Smooth. I get a consistent 60 or better fps other than big fights. Temps are running at 63C.

I have been playing for about a week now and other than once in a long while when I get a momentary freeze up there are no issues. I have everything maxed.
