I havent played in a while and today thought of playing D3 but the game is totally unplayable because of lag. Is this an issue with Nvidia drivers or diablo lateste patch? I tried lowering the graphics and playing on full screen window mode but no luck.

Are u running it on Nvidia GPU? I think you were running the game on Intel GPU. Just whitelist the game in Nvidia Control Panel. This may help: Go to Nvidia Control Panel/ Manage 3D settings/ Program settings then add the programs that you want to launch like Dota 2 or LoL then set " Select the prefer graphic processir for this program" to "Hight-performance NVIDIA processor" then click apply.
