I just got my MX14 R2 and I'm in LOVE.

But there are a few things that its been doing that are driving me bonkers.

The main one is the constant movement of my desktop icons.

    For example,
My desktop icons go from top to bottom in 3 rows with a fourth row of about 3-4
Well lets say I boot up portal 2 or CoD4 in native resolution...
When I get out of the game, there are gaps in my desktop icons and they have all moved around.
Is there a setting I've missed to make them just stay in one place and not move? This is agitating. I know its little to some but I use my desktop icons a TON and when they move as much as they do its hard to find what I'm looking for.

    Any help would be appreciated!

I can take a screen shot if needed.

Right click in any empty spot on your desktop, click "view" then uncheck "auto arrange icons".

If that was already unchecked, it may just be the resolution changes are messing up and at the bottom and the right side due to the lesser resolution. If that is the case just make sure all of your icons "fit" the lowest resolution that you use, and on the higher resolution they will stay in place, but there will be empty space at the bottom and the right where the "extra" resolution is.

I stopped using desktop icons years ago, I much prefer a clean desktop. I now just use the built in desktop toolbar, where I can access anything on my desktop from there, but they don't cover up my background image at all.

Is it just moving around or the file is also missing too? If the file start to miss, then it might cause by HDD failure since the missing/moving file are one of the HDD failure sign.

Great stuff, this should help you fixing the problem. If it persists you can always try a Respawn.

Thanks for the suggestion. I might have to check it out. Seems like a good concept. I was thinking of trying out my hand in getting a dock? Any recommendations? I've only ever known RocketDock but it slowed down my old PC a ton (the PC wasn't very good but either way it still had significant slow down)
