Does anyone know? If its a decent drive like a Samsung 830/840 series this is well worth it to configure at time of buying so you dont have to deal with putting your own in and reinstalling OS/Drivers.

I ordered my m14x R2 with the 256SSD and it came with a Samsung PM830. I'm not quite sure if thats the exact same 830 I have in my desktop, but it is damned fast.

And.. I reformatted it anyway. Clean OS install and everything. No stupid junk software like that webcam crap and power dvd.

VLC + bluray codecs ftw. :D

Wow really? It came with a Samsung 830 series? This is a good deal then I am shocked generally they rip you for HD upgrades.

Wait this is a mSATA drive? Not as good as a Standard 830 Series SSD then correct?

Hmmm would the speed difference only be noticable in a benchmark and not real world eye test?

Also if I am not mistaken after a little research isn't the Samsung 830 mSATA 256GB SSD worth more then the $145 I would pay getting it with order from Dell?

Correct, I think you'd only see differences while benching.
As to the value, it probably is worth more than $145

My OEM replacement for the M17x-R4 was a Liteon/Plextor 256GB SSD lol...

I think most of them are Samsung PM830.
