I'm trying to look up drivers for my laptop but my service tag doesn't work on the site. Anyone else have this problem?

I've always wondered why this isn't the case. Perhaps it's potentially too insecure?

Yeah this happened with my M11xR3. It was a month almost and it wasn't in the system still. I contacted Dell (Chris M on the Dell Alienware forums - there is a thread on this topic here: Alienware under Warranty with no Dell Service Tag - Alienware Forum - Alienware Club - Dell Community) and he manually associated my account with my service tag.

I have the same problem, but I haven't called support about it yet. The only thing I need from the Smartsource website is the webcam software, and I don't use the webcam, ever, so it hasn't been an issue. I'll get around to calling them eventually, hopefully they can fix it.

Just log in to the smartsource website with your Dell Account login. You dont have to have the tag under your name. Key in the service tag and it will show you the appropriate software. Again, you have to have a service tag and login with your Dell Acct.
