I've never messed with the advanced keyboard light settings in the Alienware Command Center. I've messed with the basic settings plenty to keep me entertained, but never the advanced ones. I always have my keyboard lights at a normal, nonflashing red or red/blue combination.

But as of yesterday, whenever I boot up Battlefield 3, it randomly changes my keyboard lights. When I'm in the middle of the match, everything is usually just straight white, occasionally switching to a flashing red. When respawning, it's a yellow/blue change pattern. I never set it to do this, and I'm not quite sure what to do. This isn't a huge problem, but it bothers me enough that I have to ask.

But on the real problem, my fans. I was just playing BF3 on a 64 player game of Caspian Border Conquest. Normally my CPU runs in the high 80's to low 90's, but I noticed my fans were running unusually quieter (or, less loudly, would be more appropriate) than usual. So I layed down and checked my CPU temps mid-game, and they were around 95-98. This bothers me, as it's much higher than usual and is close to the 100 degree shutdown. Granted, the room I'm in is a little warmer compared to the room I'm usually in, so that might have something to do with it, but considering my fans were so much quieter I can't help but think that's the problem. Is there any way to really check if the fans are working at optimal speeds? I highly doubt it's a dust problem; I've only had the machine since December, and I just cleaned the fans only a month ago. And there wasn't that much to dust off in the first place.

Thanks in advance for any help!
