    That is correct. My O/S, Games & Apps run on the mSATA at SATA3 speeds. I then use the 500gb drive as storage for my VMs, music, etc.

    Thank you!! So, have you installed Alienware Windows (the original DVD that you recived with notebook) by your self? Sorry for this question, I know how to format and install a operating system on a computer, but i'm afraid of having any problems with alienware computer(maybe with a mSATA drive), becouse these computer have something different (like the lighting system); in fact alienware has a special micorsoft window 7 (right?). Sorry, I have asked to Dell support, but here in Italy I only can ask to italian support, and they are not informed about this question (like teh first i write here about mSATA interface speed).

    I have my own copy of Windows 7 Professional that I purchased. I've always flattened a machine when I purchase it and do a fresh install of windows. There is no special version of Windows 7 for Alienware. You should be able to grab all the required drivers from the Dell Site directly. Everything will work out fine. If you search through the main Alienware Forum, I believe there is a thread that explains how to install a clean copy of Windows 7 and what is needed to get all the required devices working correctly.

    Hope this helps.

    @Johannesynt

    You're asking the same questions repeatedly across a few threads. The short answer to all is YES.
    Get the 128gb. Get the 256gb. Get an mSata SSD. Get a standard SSD. Go with mSata and a standard laptop HDD. They will all work. You can install Windows by yourself on all without any trouble.

    Really, when you first asked and I answered, it was the same or very similar. Just go with what your heart desires, man.
